A fixed brace uses bands, brackets (or locks), wires and other elements. We use high quality materials and technologically advanced products. And we work with a laboratory which makes an individual, custom-made brace for each patient.
This brace uses self-ligating brackets. These brackets leave more room for the teeth move, resulting in less pain for the patient. They also hold on to less dental plaque than conventional brackets. This improves dental hygiene, which is crucially important in keeping the teeth healthy.
About this type of bracket
The orthodontic wire is kept in place by a built-in cover lock. This provides the teeth with more space in which to move, thus shortening the treatment time and enabling the end goal to be reached more quickly. Furthermore, with this brace, the periodic replacement of the elastic bands surrounding the brackets is a thing of the past.
The brace is placed on the teeth using a process of indirect bonding, a technique whereby the brackets are attached to the patients’ teeth using a dental cast. We determine the position of each individual bracket. There is no such thing as a standard position, because you are not standard: each face is unique, so each brace is too. Using a cast of the patients’ teeth, the brace is custom-made in a laboratory and then sent over to us on a specialised transfer tray designated for that purpose. The tray ensures that when the brace is fitted, the brackets can be placed on the teeth in one go. This enables us to place the brackets onto your teeth in a maximum of 4 minutes. This is more pleasant for the patient, and ensures that they spend less time in the treatment chair, experience less pain during the fitting of the brace and that the brackets are precision-placed. The precision of the brace in turn results in a shorter treatment period so that the patient needs the brace for a shorter period of time.
