Emergencies
Do you have an emergency? Take a look at our tips of what you can do yourself.
Do you have an emergency during the practice’s opening times?
Call: 070 200 1700
Even if you already have an appointment, as we may have to set aside more time or make an earlier appointment.
NB! In case of real pain, for example a wire that sticks out, we have a walk-in time every morning, Monday to Friday from 8.00 am – 8.10 am*. During this walk-in only pain complaints are resolved and therefore no brackets are replaced or checks are made.
*On Mondays and Fridays our Margaretha van Hennebergweg location is closed.
Do you have an emergency outside the practice’s opening times?
We work with Dental365 to deal with emergencies outside our opening times. The emergency dentist at Dental365 will treat any emergencies that cannot wait until the next working day. See the contact details below.

What can you do yourself?
If a loose brace is broken or is very painful
Remove the brace and phone us during working hours.
One of the brackets is loose
If the bracket is still attached to the brace you can leave it in place and cover it in wax. If the bracket is completely unattached, leave it so. Phone us during business hours on the next working day.
Something on my fixed brace is scratching my cheek or tongue
Try covering the offending part of the brace with wax. If necessary, phone Dental365 or contact us by phone during working hours.
One of the rings (bands) on my fixed brace is loose around my tooth
If the ring is bothering you, cover it in wax. Stop using the elastic bands if these need to be attached to the loose ring. Leave the loose ring in place. Make an appointment on the next working day to reattach the ring.
My splint is loose
Leave the splint in place if it is still partly attached. On no account should you break off or remove the splint yourself. Wear your night brace both day and night until your appointment. Phone Dental365 or make an emergency appointment with us during business hours to reattach the splint.
Several brackets have come loose due to an accident
Contact your dentist if your teeth are also damaged or if they hurt. Your dentist will let you know whether they think that an orthodontic consultation is necessary.
